April showers us with Shows!
Lots of shows coming up!! This Friday, a very special event in New West – screening of Bloodied But Unbowed in the back room of the Heritage Grill followed by live sets from Hello Polly and Budokan. And in the front dining room the surf n’ turf sounds of the Modelos! The back room screening is $10 (tickets at Heritage Grill) and no cover in the front room.
Saturday night is the “hot” golden ticket – the rock show of 2012! Budokan celebrate their debut platter “Spin A Little Gold” – a beautiful full length LP on 180 gram gold vinyl! Joining the party are label-mates Hello Polly, the return of The Hits, the Liquor Kings and I Braineater!!! All this rock for only ten bucks. Online tix available direct from the Rickshaw Theatre, as well as usual outlets Red Cat, Zulu, Highlife, Bonerattle and Dental Lab.
On Thusday night, David P. Smith rolls into to town with friends Ben Sures and Bubba Cook for their Death Ballad Love Tellers Tour: The Second Coming at Chapel Arts.
The next night, it’s back to the Heritage Grill for a full night of Doug Andrew & Circus in Flames and their sheet metal country.
On Saturday night, Doug & Circus in Flames head into Japantown to team up with The Trespassers at LanaLou’s. Great to have The Trespassers back in the clubs.
Sunday, April 15th it’s the debut of a new weekly event at The Waldorf – The Rebel Kind Cabaret and Travelin’ Road Show! An outlaw variety show hosted by house band, The Bugs Buddy Show (Mike Van Eyes, Ian Tiles, Ron Scott) with a cavalcade of superstar guests like Mac Pontiac, Buck Cherry, Butch Murphy, Kelly Haigh, Howard Rix, Debra Jean, Tom Anselmi and more. Every Sunday night! Look for Blind God, Carolyn Mark, Eddy Dutchman, Scott Smith, Joe Rotundo, Shelley Campbell, Tavis Triance and more coming soon.
